Debt Advice - Opportunities to Volunteer

Debt Advice Supporter
 
This role involves the following
Praying on a regular basis for the Money Ministry at SPS;
Attendance at monthly prayer meetings;
Accompanying a Debt Advisor on home visits to potential and existing clients and to follow the client up to meet social, practical and spiritual needs as appropriate
Attend quarterly CAP client events organised by SPS to assist in discipleship and integration of CAP clients into the church
 
The time commitment required for each client taken on could be one session a week – depending on the needs of the client. This is in addition to attending the monthly prayer meeting and quarterly events.

Money Coach
 
This role involves the following
Praying on a regular basis for the Money Ministry at SPS;
Attendance at monthly prayer meetings;
Running a CAP Money course once per term – three evenings
 
Initially there is a requirement to attend a CAP Money Coach training course which is one day.

Debt Advisor
 
This role involves the following
Praying on a regular basis for the Money Ministry at SPS;
Attendance at monthly prayer meetings;
Committing to spend two sessions a week ( a session being one evening or half a day) to carry out: home visits to potential and existing clients and follow up work; publicising Debt Advice in Shadwell and other local churches; meeting one month with your SPS line manager;
Organise quarterly CAP client events organised by SPS to assist in discipleship and integration of CAP clients into the church
 
In addition there is a need to attend five days of training from CAP in Bradford in September 2008 and attendance at the CAP Annual Conference.
